Welcome

Moles are small, dark pigmented growths that can appear anywhere on the skin, singularly or in groups. They are usually brown or black in color due to the high concentrations of pigment in the cells that make up the mole, but they can also be skin colour.

Moles appear during childhood and in the early adulthood. Moles can appear even later in life. They can change over time, they can become change color, size, shape or sensation. If this is the case, then you must have them checked by a dermatologist.

Often due the location and size of the mole, people want moles removed for cosmetic reasons. If the mole is examined and it is determined to be benign, it can be removed under local anesthetic in the clinic. It can be removed either by surgically or by electrodessication (burning to the level of the skin). Please call us at 403-450-4739 to book a consultation with Dr. Kristina Zakhary to determine the best course of action for you.

Welcome

Dr. Zakhary does scar revision surgery in Calgary to improve the appearance of certain scars. Surgical scar revision can change the size of a scar, raise depressed scars or lower elevated scars. Scar revision improves the appearance of a scar while leaving another - though less obvious - scar in its place. Scar revision can also be achieved with Fraxel laser or Vascular Laser treatments, or the injection of steroid medications.
